Dream Adventure Kaokofeld SCS K 15(15 Days)

Day 1:
Leaving Windhoek at 07h00, we travel past Okahandja to Omaruru. Visit the "Franketurm" – build in 1904 – and continue via Uis to the Brandberg, Namibia’s highest mountain. Walking trail to the ancient rock engravings – amongst them the famous "White Lady”.

Day 2:
Visit the ancient rock paintings and engravings at Twyfelfontein. Some more interesting sights in the area include the Burnt Mountain, Organ pipes and Petrified Forrest.

Day 3:
Hiking and relaxing at Palmwag. Here we will also set up camp for the night.

Day 4:
Drive past the Khowaribschlucht, Warmquelle and Ongongo Waterfalls on to Fort Sesfontein. Continue through the Giribes Plains where springbucks, oryx, giraffes and ostriches roam freely.
In the Ganumub Plain we set up camp.

Day 5:
On the way from the Hoanib River to Purros we might view some desert elephants and with some luck also the rare black rhino. At Purros we meet the first Ovahimba, the ancient nomadic tribe of the Kaokoland.

Day 6/7:
Travelling via the vast Etendeka Plains, Nadas River and Marienfluss-Valley to the Kunene River, border between Namibia and Angola.
Camping at Otjinungwa.

Day 8:
Sightseeing in the Marienfluß-Valley and visits to a traditional Himba village. Via Sanitatas we travel to Omutati.
Camping in the wilderness.

Day 9/10:
En route to the Epupa Waterfalls in the Kunene River, we will pass various Himba villages. Hiking along the river.
Camping under Makalani Palms, within the sound of the falls.

Day 11:
Back to Opuwo we head southeast to Farm Karos, bordering the Etosha National Park.
Camping on Karos.

Day 12:
We enter the Etosha National Park at Otjivasandu. Drive through the unspoiled western part of the park, whilst viewing game.
Camping at the Okaukuejo Rest camp. Game viewing at the floodlit waterhole.

Day 13:
Extensive game viewing through the Etosha National Park. Camping at the Namutoni Restcamp.

Day 14:
Early departure to visit the Hedwigslust bushmen farm. Continue to Lake Otjikoto and past Tsumeb and the Hoba meteorite on to the Waterberg Plateau Park. Hiking on the Waterberg gives you an insight on the large variety of flora, and offers a magnificent view over the surrounding area.

Day 15:
Drive back to Windhoek. En route we will visit the local woodcarvers markets in Okahandja. Arrival in Windhoek at approximate 13h00.

Inclusive:

Three meals a day, sightseeing and entrance fees as mentioned in the itinerary, experienced English-speaking guide and personnel. Accommodation in a double igloo tent, (single igloo tents available on special request). Transport in a specially designed Mercedes Unimog – Safari bus or Toyota Land Cruiser (for groups smaller then 5 persons), fully equipped with camping gear. Not included in the price:

Personal expenditures like drinks, telephone calls and tips for tour guides and other personnel, and optional excursions.
